Flowplayer Makes it Free and Easy to Add Video to Your Website
Regardless of whether you use video to showcase your artisitic talents, spice up a sales page or share treasured moments with relatives, a good website video player is of the utmost importance.
If you stop by to see the good people at Flowplayer.org, not only will you find a top performing, highly customizable video player, but it’s completely free to use. You can pay for “non-branded” versions of the player, but if you don’t mind a Flowplayer logo showing up for about half a second before each video you’ll be fine.
Unlike so many paid video players that I’ve purchased over the years, Flowplayer can be easily customized using javascript, CSS and HTML. You can even download flash and java plugins to further control the look, feel and perfomance of your player.
One of the great things about the Flowplayer installation process is that most of the basic setups are demonstrated on “standalone” pages within the online instruction manual. This allows you to literally copy the source code, make a couple tweaks and voila: your player is operational within minutes.
Many of my sites require multiple videos per page. In order to keep the page load time down, Flowplayer doesn’t load videos until you choose to play them. Unlike pages using players that load the videos every time you load the page, your web pages will load as quickly as pages with no videos on them. How does this work? Well, instead of loading the video, Flowplayer just loads an image file that you assign to each video - it’s the image file in the player that you see before you click the play button. For an example, I just rebuilt one of my sites from the ground up and incorporated Flowplayer. The page below has 10 videos on it, but watch how fast it loads:

I was lucky enough to learn about this player through an online forum and now it’s my turn to share it with my blog readers. Whether you’re an expert or a novice, I highly recommend checking out everything Flowplayer has to offer.
Enjoy adding streaming video to your site for free!

Hi Ron
Take a look at this its called Easy Video Producer, its got the viral
aspect. its by Joel Therien, CEO ofKiosk.ws simply hit record and you are away. How many times have you visited a web page where you download a product and then have to upgrade. I am always on the lookout for low cost marketing stuff that will do the job more expensive tools.
Hi Paul and thanks for the info. I know about this product and the viral aspect of it is cool. Also, this program is only for webcam recording and publishing, not screen capture recording (that I know of).
For screen capture, there are 100% free products out there that can create videos for you. You can create free 5 minute videos ready for upload with Jing, the creators of Camtasia. See my post here: http://theinternetmarketersblog.com/?p=71. Also, CamStudio is free open source software that does a phenomenal job of making screen capture recordings of any length. You can get that here: http://camstudio.org/.
Easy Video Producer is a fine product, but it was created mainly with the goals to build a list and make money for those that upgrade. I don’t like the built in autoresponder and the 1/week sending restrictions. There may be a way to add your own AR into it, but I don’t know.
That being said, I think that a lot of people can benefit from this tool if they own a webcam.
I also need to clarify that my post above is about an extremely powerful streaming video player, not a video creator. I enjoy using components versus a “one tool does all” product as I usually don’t get all the features I’m looking for in the latter.
Thanks again for your comment Paul. I hope to see you around here in the future!
